Enum DocxCheck

Namespace
PDiffy
Assembly
PDiffy.dll

A rule Check(params DocxCheck[]) can apply. Each one catches a mistake that generated Word documents often make and that keeps them from being accessible. These are fast regression checks, not a full accessibility review.

public enum DocxCheck

Fields

ImageAltText = 0

Every image, chart, diagram, shape and embedded object has alt text or is marked as decoration. A shape with text in it and an ActiveX control are left out, since a screen reader reads the text and the control's own label.

TableHeaders = 1

Every table of more than one row marks its first row as a header row (repeated at the top of each page), so a screen reader can tell its column headings from its data. A warning, since a table used only for layout needs no header row.

DocumentLanguage = 2

All text has a language, from the document's defaults or from its styles or runs, so a screen reader reads it with the right voice. Reported once, for the whole document.

HeadingStyles = 3

Every paragraph that looks like a heading (short, all bold and followed by body text) has a heading style, since only headings show in the list a screen reader moves through. A warning, since bold text can also be emphasis.
